Javi ‘s brief was to transform our previously ugly Vet Hospital to a modern, stand out building with street appeal, within a significantly tight budget. And he certainly delivered! His inspired idea was instead of trying to make the old 1950’s house that served as our previous hospital something that it could never be, instead to hide the old hospital behind screening & build a new modern facade & extension for street & public view. His showpiece design of Stainless Steel weaving contrasted with organic wood paneling to produce a building of true uniqueness & impact. Not just attractive design, but great function also, as the curved Stainless steel screen hides the old building while a matching SS sliding entrance screen provides us with essential night time security. Javi worked with us, not just for us, & listened to our requirements to create a functional, working Vet hospital floorplan that joins well onto our existing layout. He has amazing attention to detail & thoroughness, and also worked as our project coordinator, sourcing & dealing with the builders to get the project to completion, saving us valuable time & hassle. I rarely write reviews, as I rarely come across anything worth publicly raving about. Saying that, I do think other people should know about Javi and Suffixity. As I’m someone who thinks he knows about house design, I just thought I needed a Draftsman to draw up my design for a veranda/carport. That’s until Javi looked at my ugly little 1970s house, proposed a range of ideas that had never entered my head, created an outdoor area and carport with a real ‘WOW’ factor, and even worked out an affordable solution to make the interior of the house flow better and become more liveable. And he did all of this with patience and forbearance (I may not be the easiest of clients…!). I can highly recommend Javi not just for his skill as an architect, but for his ability to take my ideas and transform them into something beyond my expectations, with patience and good humour. Money well spent.

If ever I doubted the value that an architect can bring to a project, those doubts disappeared after watching Javi from Suffixity bring vision and creativity to transform an ugly duckling 70s house into an inviting, contemporary (but still quirky!) hills home. Javi's skill is in taking the jumbled half formed ideas of his clients and translating them into beautiful designs that reflect his client's personalities. For Javi, constraints (whether site constraints or budget constraints) are just opportunities to be creative. His designs met the brief and the budget, but exceeded our expectations. To top it off, you couldn't find a nicer, more patient person to be your architect. Highly recommended.
